The owner of the golf course hired SP2 Technologies to conduct further environmental testing on the golf course, and submitted a proposal to the Florida Department of Environmental Protection. Based on emails from Hobby and Hobby, the law firm representing the owner, and also from SP2, it would appear that the purpose of the testing was to ask the FDEP to rule on whether or not any remediation would be required if the use was constrained to a passive preserve only. The FDEP responded with the letter shown below, in which further testing is required. It should be noted that this information was not provided to us by the county, but was discovered by Diane visiting the FDEP office herself and asking for updates on the environmental situation.
